Update

It’s 2020 and it’s the first day of Online and Blended Learning. It’s the first of its kind on Philippine Education System. Due to Covid19, classes in the entire Philippines are changed into a combination of Online and Blended Learning (use of modules). One thing is for sure: there’s no face to face classes for School Year (S.Y.) 2020-2021.

This blog reminds me of the old ways of selling native Filipino crafts. It may have been replaced by Lazada and Shopee but it always gives a feeling of nostalgia whenever one sees it. I guess this blog always gives that same feeling to me.

Also, I’m working from home – a first in my 20 years of working experience. This is still due to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid19). I’ve been working from home since March 2020 and I’m already missing my coworkers.

In terms of blogging, I’ve been in hiatus even before Covid19 due to the sync issue between Google (maker of Blogger a.k.a. Blogspot where most of my blogs are hosted). I’ve also made other blogs which has more views than this one including:

www.elmerdomingo.com

www.elmerlovescanon.blogspot.com

www.isapangrice.blogspot.com

However, it seems that no matter how successful these other blogs are, I still somehow go back to this one – my very first blog – created in 2007 even before I met my ex-significant lover. This was my very first attempt at blogging when it was a thing back in the 2000s.

Now that social media is overwhelmed by YouTube, video bloggers (vloggers), Instagram and yes, TikTok, sometimes I still yearn for the written words. Sounds old school, right? For me, journals will always remain. Even if videos would be the current fad.

So yes, I’m keeping this journal and will renew a promise to keep blogging, even if it’s not monetized, even if no one is reading it (a little over 1,000 views since 2007!). This blog is like a first love to me. It’s never forgotten.

Revived!

For some reason, Microsoft discontinued their blogging software Windows Live Writer (WLW). Fortunately, a group of developers/bloggers came up with a new software for blogging – Open Live Writer (OLW).

Open Live Writer 2

I thought this blog is lost because I can’t login to it a few months ago. I later found out that for some reason, Google changed something in their configuration/setup which no longer sync with my Windows Live Writer.

After enabling my other blogs on Open Live Writer, I remember this blog – my first ever blog – and decided to try to sync this to OLW. Voila! It’s working and my first blog is alive again!

It feels good to have this blog back. It’s my first love.

Cobra Energy Drink in Ragnarok Online

ragnarok and cobra

I just want to commend the marketing manager of Ragnarok Online for a great job in coming up with an advertisement from Cobra Energy Drink. The more advertisers Ragnarok Online has, the better for both gamers and the game publisher, Level Up! Games.

In previous years, Level Up! Games has partnered with numerous well known brand to have an in-game advertisement. I remember that there was an in-game event with No Fear and Coke in Ragnarok Online. I also remember that Penshoppe released Ragnarok-inspired shirts before. Even Nescafe was once a partner of Level Up! Games.

Hopefully, we’ll see more in-game advertisements for Ragnarok Online. After all, there are a huge followers of Ragnarok Online in the Philippines.

Rebranding

blakedesignsolutionsdotcom old-new

I am rebranding this blog from “The Linker’s Blog” to simply “elmer0224” (elmer zero two two four). When I forgot the username and password of this blog (my very first blog), I created a new blog to document my adventures in the world of Ragnarok Online. Thus, “The Soul Linker” was born.

When I re-discovered this blog, I decided to rename it to my online name. Yes, that is my online name – elmer0224. It’s my name and birthday. I’ve used it on Twitter, forums, and almost every website that requires a username and password. Thus, I’m elmer0224 in the digital world.

Now that the trend is shifting towards cloud technology, it’s very important that we have an online username. It now becomes our brand name online. Hopefully, I’ll be able to update this blog regularly and post articles that are related to the Internet, being online, websites, and my views and reactions to new things in the digital world.

Our world today is really fast-paced and it’s exciting to learn something new on the Internet. Hope I could get to know your online name as well.

3rd Attempt

There is a saying that third time is the charm. This is my 3rd attempt to revive this blog, which happens to be my first blog. Several things happened since I tried to blog in 2007 but I still come back to this first blog. I guess first love never dies.

The template on this blog is classic. It's no longer available on Blogger if you're going to create a new blog now. That's probably why I wanted to revive it for the 3rd time. I love the over-all look of this blog including the font that was used as well as the background which seems like an old parchment paper.

Since I also have a new Linker's Blog, I'm wondering what to do with this Original Blog. The over-all look would be best for writing letters, poems and other works of literature. For now, I'll complete the layout of this First Blog of mine and figure out what to post here moving forward.

I'm glad that I have recovered this blog.
